It's been awhile. I'm still around, though not doing much atm. Working, working, working, mostly. On top of that, trying to put some semblance of my life back together. It goes slowly.

Still playing WoW, though atm I'm a little >| at it. Or more so at the guild I'm in. Trying to rectify that too, because it sucks to log in and just stare at the screen for ten minutes. There are casual guilds and then there are guilds like mine: CASUAL. As in, an animated chat room where people don't do much of anything at all but chat about...stuff.

Which is fine. There's a lot of laughs and people are helpful when it comes to leveling. However, once you hit 80, there's only so much you can do. Sure, achievements and pvp, I like those too...on other toons. On my 80, I want to raid.

We don't raid.

Which explains why we've lost so many of our 80s. Yet I'm still amazed at how so many officers sit around scratching their heads, wonder why people are leaving. Yeah, we're nice, we have little drama, but dudes...people are BORED. So when a handful of us who -want- to raid try to organize a group....sldfal;fakjsd;jas;lassfkl;afal;k

That sums up my feelings on the matter quite well.

Hi. Casual doesn't equal disorganized. It is not fair that every weekend, our main tank signs in and has to devise groups for the 20 people who have signed up to run heroics (about 10 actually show up, if we're lucky). Yes, heroics. Not Naxx. Not Ulduar (I wish). Just heroic dungeons. Of those 20, maybe 8 of us are serious about getting geared and raiding. So when someone pipes up and says, "You know, we should have specific groups. Like a Group A, Group B, etc., that would make things easier..." the cry of "NO! WE'RE CASUAL! NO GROUPS" makes no fucking sense.

Not only that, but there needs to be a loot system...like bad...and people need to fucking check what loot they need BEFORE they jump up and down for a dungeon. If you don't need Heroic OS, DON'T SIGN UP FOR IT. Some of us actually -need- the gear to progress. Yes, I know epixx purplz are teh pretteh, but as far as I'm concerned, you don't NEED them to farm herbs or sit in Dalaran. So when someone suggests a loot system like Suicide Kings, where EVERYONE will eventually get their loot (putting raiders at the top), stop screaming, "NO LOOT SYSTEM! ROLL! WE'RE CASUAL!"

Yeah, that's fair. Especially when those who don't give a damn about their gear other than it looks teh awesome roll on shit they don't need. Like the tank who needed on my dps trinket. WTF dude? You're a damn tank, roll on the tanking trinket! Christ... Or the DK that rolled need on the breastplate when the tank and myself specifically said, "Hey, we're in here for the breastplate, K?" Yeah, I'm STILL waiting to get into another Heroic Old Kingdom and that was two months ago.

Nooo, we don't need a loot system. Not at all.

I hate PUGS. Hate them, but tonight I started looking for them because I'm tired of sitting on my ass. But the more I think about it, the more pissed I get because though I only need a few more pieces of gear to feel comfortable in Naxx10, I know myself and the handful of others are carrying these yahoos to their gear and it's really fucking up any progression we're trying to make.

We started this because we were losing the people who wanted to raid to raiding groups. We're still losing them, a bit more slowly now, but I've noticed now that the carrot has gotten moldy, the fleeing is picking up again. It's really unfair that those who want to raid with this guild can't because the hardcore casuals insist on this no rules, anything goes atmosphere. They can do their pet grinds, achievements, fishing, cooking, whatever in relative peace--but god forbid anyone in this guild want to actually raid and expect some kind of structure.

Bottom line: Raiding doesn't work without rules. Epic fail will occur.

I'm done with this guild.
