Alright no dinosaurs. I guess that would be hard to make work even in a movie about talking robots disguised as cars. But surely Megatron will be back? Orci and Kurtzman playfully danced around the question. “Didn’t he get thrown into the bottom of the ocean?” Kurtzman laughed, with his partner adding, “That would be silly” in regards to a return for the arch-nemesis of the Autobots.

Remember that movie back in '86 when Hasboro killed off Optimus Prime and fans everywhere went into shock? Then Transformers slowly died a painful, humiliating death and dropped off the face of the earth for like 20 years?

Yeah.

Transformers without Megatron is...death. I'm not interested in seeing after the fact comic book characters (aka: The Fallen) take the front seat as the main villain. I want to see Megatron and Prime duking it out over and over again because that's what TF is. 20 years of strife and hate between the two leaders and Megatron gets 20 minutes in the first feature film then dies? That is silly. Bring Megs back. Bring him back pissed. Bring him back with a vengeance. Let it burn!!!! (lol) To not include Megs in the next film is just ridiculous and a good way to turn off a lot of fans from a third movie (if online discussion is anything to go by).

I do think the statement is coy, though. I certainly hope so. Because if it turns out that there is no Megatron in the next movie, I'm going to be disappointed. Big time. Already I'm feeling leery, mostly because I don't trust Micheal Bay's ability to leave well enough alone. Yeah, giant robots kicking the crap out of each other is awesome and doesn't need a whole lot of plot to keep it going, but start pissing in the playground too much and people are going to get upset. Removing Megs is like blowing up the sandbox and burning down the swirly slide. I'm sure people have been lynched for less.

So back to the waiting game. I'll be biting my nails in the corner.
