Today I got a call from the WSDA saying they'd like to offer me a position for the summer. I was pretty stunned. I didn't expect the phone call to be so fast, nor did I expect to get the job. *laughs* It's only from June to September--about 3.5 - 4 months. But I accepted it anyway. I'm a little worried about finding another job in the fall time, but after talking to my trusted bud, Maynard, he said something that stuck with me.
"One day at a time"
He's right. One day at a time. I can't plan everything for the future right now. I can be aware of the things that might happen after this job ends, but that's about it. Worry is holding me back. I'll never move on if I let the anxiety get to me. So I'm taking this job, saying goodbye to the old one, and though I don't know what will happen in the future, it'll be ok. I'm still going to look for permanent work and if that opportunity arises, I'll take it. But for now, this will do.
So, the job begins in June. Training starts on the 19th for three days. I get a state car. I get to drive around all day by myself and hang sticky traps in apple trees. Angry home owners are going to scream at me, maybe even threaten me. I'll get lost in the back woods of some muninciple and go missing for days. Maybe I'll even get to write tickets.
This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait! *giggles*

Ever see Deliverance?
Posted by: Jeff at April 21, 2006 01:07 PMWho needs to see Deliverance when you live in Burbank?
Posted by: Sarah at April 21, 2006 01:23 PMFinley always struck me as more of a "Deliverance" type town.
:P
Posted by: Zoso at April 21, 2006 10:24 PMYou'll have to write the best threats down.

And if God feels particularly vengeful that day he'll send you Michael Jackson and Hannibal Lector to keep you company. >D But I doubt it.
Anyways, onto something a bit more...surreal.

Personally, I find Reno and Rude to be the best in the show. :)
I have every faith that you'll find your way out of the backwoods... but why leave when you could conquer?
