What's in the News?

A lot of stuff that pisses me the hell off, that's for sure. What is the matter with the government in the USA these days? I think a lot of our elected officials have forgotten what they are--elected officials. They're supposed to work for us, not for themselves or their own agendas. However, give them an inch and they take about forty thousand miles--and run with it.

First we have illegal immigrants flooding New Orleans. A lot of work in that area right now, with the rebuilding and all. These aren't farm jobs either. Construction work pays ok and requires skills. So why are all those refugees still hanging out in Houston? Weren't these the people who were crying about how poor they were? How their homes were destroyed? How they were jobless? Now there's work all over their city and they're still sitting on their asses. I've lost a lot of sympathy for those people. A lot. Way to be concerned about your city, morons.

Now lets jump back to immigration. Yeah, it's fucked up in this country. We should've slammed the border shut ages ago, but all of us sat around with our thumbs up our asses. Now we have illegal immigrants protesting in our streets. For what? Their rights? WTF? I'm sorry, but if you're here illegally, the only damn right you have is to go the hell home. You move to my country, demand free health care, demand government aide, demand government documents in your language, demand our law officials/courts/schools/banks/everyone in business be taught your language, demand that everyone pretty much speak your language, demand schools bend over backwards to adjust to your cultural differences, and you expect me to be sympathetic to your cause? Sorry. No can do.

Those jobs you say no American will do? You bet your ass they'd do them, but unfortunately, you people come here and drive the wages for those jobs down to nothing. That's why no American will do those jobs. Americans know they'd make more working at McDonalds and farmers/laborers know they can rob you blind by paying you peanuts. But what do you care? Compared to what you were making from where ever you came from, it's a mint, right? Besides, our government hands out welfare to you people like it's candy at a circus. No problem making a living here.

Meanwhile, you pop out a few kids (on the tax payers dime). Hot damn! They're American citizens. They have all the rights you've had to steal with no strings attached. Even better, your kids can go to college for nothing! But Mary Sue down the road can't go...financial aide for college is limited and only given to the 'needy'. Her dad makes too much money, according to the government, even though they live paycheck to paycheck. Looks like Mary Sue has a long career at Wal-Mart ahead of her since finding a decent job without a Bachelor's Degree is next to impossible.

And you know what. Keep your criminals in your own country. Yeah, Americans commit crimes. Duh. But all I need to do is open the paper tomorrow morning and I'll bet my entire paycheck that 80% of those names under "Arrested" aren't Americans--not where I live anyway.

You wonder why we're pissed off? You think protesting is going to get me to vote in your favor? Not a snowball's chance in hell. See, this is where us American's trump you. We can vote. You can't. And you bet your ass I'll be watching what's going on this voting year.

Now do I think all immigrants are evil. Nope. Do I think people should be allowed to get long term work visas? Sure. Do I think it should be easier for people to get them? Yeah, a little. Do I think we should pass them out to anyone? Hell no. If you don't qualify for one? Tough shit. You pop out kids while you're here? Sorry, no citizen ship for them! You have to apply for it! That's the way it works in a lot of countries. Don't speak English, better start learning--we're done with this 'bilingual' bullshit (and I've always wondered how that was fair, anyway? Where are the forms for the Chinese, Vietnamese, Croatians, Russians, Japanese, Nigerian, etc, immigrants? When I was in Seattle waiting for my sister to get finished at a doctors appointment, I watched the front office run around wildly looking for a Russian interpreter. It took an hour to find one. How is that fair? Shouldn't all immigrants be treated equally?). And you farmers? You knowingly hire illegals, you get a whopping fine--or maybe crop seizure. That might get the point across.

And for the record, I'm all for a big ass wall across our border. With barbed wire and lasers. Maybe even pterodactyls.

Next on my bitch list: Forced Medical Benefits

So Massachusetts government passed a bill making medical benefits mandatory. Like car insurance. That was their reasoning anyway. So, geniuses, when does the cost of privatized medical insurance go down? I'm sure a lot of people would like to know, because if you haven't noticed, medical insurance is a HELL of a lot more expensive than car insurance. Are there going to be government subsidies? Wait! Sorry, my bad...that's all tied up in illegal immigrants. You know, if you're going to force people to pay outrageous prices for medical insurance, then you damn well better start forcing ALL employers to carry coverage for their employees or start forcing reasonable prices from insurance providers AND doctors/hospitals. Fair is fair, after all.

On to the next gripe. Borders. No, not the country's borders. The bookstore. They decided not to carry a magazine that had the ominous cartoon sketches of Mohammad. So much for the first amendment. Their reasoning, the pictures would put their employees in danger. Yeah... If the people at Borders haven't noticed, this is the US, not the Middle East. I'm pretty sure a bombing at Borders is high on some mullah's to do list.

Britany Spears is a dumb ho. But the CPS showing up at her house to check on the welfare of her son? Give me a fucking break. Yeah, she's stupid. Yeah, she got caught driving with her kid on her lap. A big no no. But does this really require an investigation by Children's Welfare Services? Shouldn't you people be doing things like saving kids who actually need it? You know, kids like Jimmy (made up kid), whose mom is out hoing for drugs while he's eating the last cracker in the tin because mom's too cracked out to buy food. Meanwhile, mom's pimp comes to the house and beats him up just because the day hasn't turned a profit. But little Jimmy managed to get his homework done and go to school every day like a good boy. There're a lot of little Jimmy's in this country. Why? Don't we pay you people to look out for these kids?

Well, I think I'm done. I feel better.
