Good lord. This guy is just amazing--I mean, he just makes decisions as he sees fit. Is anyone else worried? The USA's President doesn't seem much like a President anymore. More like a monarch or dictator. Thank god for Congress or this guy would be even more out of control. I wonder how far he'll push it? Until he gets dismissed from office? Until he takes over the world?
*shakes head in disgust*

On another note, something has been bothering me so I just want to clarify a few things. I'm not a credit/ask permission/comment type person when it comes to stuff like icons or pictures. I ask that you don't steal my bandwith and don't put the icons in a gallery you claim as your own (as in "Look what I made!!!"). The few icons I have seen of mine being used have been credited and I thank you guys for that because I think it's so nice of you (but not necessary). Other than that, I really don't care what you do with them.
As for the scans and scanlations, I really don't mind if you put them up elsewhere, I mean technically they aren't mine either (ha ha); however, the translating, scanning, and cleaning take a long time, so it would be nice for some credit as well as a polite note telling me what's up. Of course, this is the internet and we all know manners (or common sense) don't usually apply here. So I won't get my hopes up too much. :(
Phew~ Now I feel a bit better.
(If you're using the scans to make icons, I could care less. Make icons away. This is only in reference to the translated scans as whole stories.)
(Oh, and one more thing-- Please DON'T post the scans at Deviant Art! It's against the rules there, first of all; and secondly, Deviant Art is suppose to be your artwork, not a place to host manga scans.)
Posted by Zoso at December 17, 2005 08:53 AMJust wanted to let you know that I am using a few of your avatars.... mostly Star Ocean, and that I don't claim them for myself at all. I haven't ever made an avatar in my life! We have two computers, one upstairs (the good one) and one downstairs (the not so good one but has internet so we use it anyway) and the one upstairs has photoshop on it, but I can never transfer files from that computer to this one because the floppys/CDs always have to be formatted for one computer and unformatted for another.
Also, do you have to pay for an account on deviantArt? I would get one but I don't know if I have to pay or not...
And yes, our "president" is a nut case and needs to be put out of office. But i prefer him over John Kerry *chills*. Why don't we all just move to Japan? They go crazy over Americans over there! Teachers were talking about it at my school. One said that their brother lives over there and that he 6'3 and gets treated kind of like a god because he's so tall. That's kind of cool...
Oh yeah, and another question. On New Years Eve I'm with a friend to a Japanese restaurant and then there's a Japanese market next door, but I would like to know if they might have untranslated manga over there. Do have any idea if they do? The only way I know how to get untranslated manga is over the internet, and I don't have a credit card so I can't do that. And if they don't sell any, do you know of any stores that do? Thanks!
Posted by: Vampire_Fire at December 17, 2005 11:28 AMAw~ It always makes me happy to see someone using my icons! Thanks. I really don't care much about crediting and commenting, like so many elitist icon makers do. I think it's pretty pointless.
It kind of annoyed me that someone would just take scans though and not mention the person who worked on them. It seemed kinda rude. Maybe I'm just being grumpy...
As much as I love Japan, I wouldn't want to live there. There's a lot of racist/xenophobic issues there. There's a website called Debito or something like that. I think I linked it once, but you'd be amazed at the racism against foreigners in that country.
As for finding untranslated manga in local stores, you're going to probably have to find a Japanese book store or comic store that sells them. Off hand, I know that Kinokuniya has stores around the US. On the west coast they're in Seattle, San Francisco, Costa Mesa, LA, etc. Not too sure about the west coast. You can look on their website, which is linked in the sidebar. Other than that, I'm not sure what to tell you. :(
Posted by: Zoso at December 17, 2005 12:32 PMOh yeah, the deviant art thing. You don't have to pay for an account as far as I know. You just don't get the perks that go along with a paid account.
Posted by: Zoso at December 17, 2005 02:38 PMThanks for the info! I also wanted to tell you that after reading the article you linked about Ki-- I mean... President Bush my dad brought it up earlier. He just walked in the front door and said, "So, how long until Bush get's impeached?" Bush has gotten himself into some deep crap for my dad to be against him. (my dad voted for him, BOTH times...) And then he asked me if I knew who the democratic party was looking for to run for president in 2008 (maybe sooner, the way it's looking). Hilary Clinton. I know people are looking for something different, but any woman but her. And haven't we learned from having two Bushs in office? What will happen when we put another CLINTON in office... Jeez, this doesn't look good, does it?
