I love videogames. Lots of people say I'm too old to be playing them, but they can all go to hell. I'm a kid at heart and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
So, here's the question of the day, since I know many of my friends here are gamers as well:
What are looking forward to buying next year?
Me? I've got small list, but still will end up shelling out bucks for the games I want. Not to mention the new consoles hitting the market.
Consoles:
PS3
Revolution
PSP (not enough money to buy it right now)
Games:
FF12
Kingdom Hearts 2
Shadow Hearts: From the New World (Xseed Games)
Grandia 3 (Kick. Ass.)
Magna Carta 2 (pending)
Xenosaga 3
Dirge of Cerebus
Tales of Legendia (I'm soooo excited for this one)
Crisis Core: FFVII (for PSP)
And that's it for now. I'm sure more will pop up as next year moves on. I'm hoping for a new Star Ocean game, though it seems Square has it's hands tied with a ton of other games right now. Hopefully once they're all finished, they'll make another installment of that great series!
Posted by Zoso at December 16, 2005 01:38 PMHey, Zosocrowe! Looks like you're getting prepared for the holidays too, huh? Well... The games I want are most of the things you listed, Xenosaga 3 being one of them! I've already finished the First and am nearly being done with the Second, so... Hopefully that'll come soon (Yay, for possible chaos/KOS-MOS!).
I went to that site of XS 3, but sadly, I can't read anything. I'm really curious as to what they say about KOS-MOS and that other android, T-elos... Heh, I guess that's my way of asking if you could read what it says. ^^;;
Posted by: xKuroSeraphimx at December 16, 2005 04:15 PMAh, lets see...I'll do my best. No furigana makes it hard. *laughs*
Code-name TP-XX, or Telos for short. Is three times stronger than Kosmos in all regards (pretty much). Something about taking Kosmos' place in Project Zohar. Except for difference in hair and skin tone, they are two peas in a pod ( 瓜二つ= as alike as two melons), however the design origins are obscure (anonymous?). The current project leader is a mysterious (dubious/suspicious) man named Roaht (Root?) Mandel. Kosmos is repeatedly under fire (by them).
As for Kosmos, talk about a long friggen sentance. It says something about mysterious behavior, but I'm not sure if they're talking about Kosmos, Vector Industry, or the Gnosis *laughs*.
Also there's talk of hostility of/to/by humanity and the Gnosis threat, which Kosmos is suppose to prevent. They also say something about Shion witnessing emotions in Kosmos, which a battle android isn't suppose to have.
They ask if Kosmos is developing a heart/mind (of her own)--and that could be the key.
This is very, very, very loose translation--and not a great one, but I think I hit the major points. *laughs*
Posted by: Zoso at December 16, 2005 05:28 PMI'm lookin' to buy just about everything on that list 'cept the PSP and 360 (PS3 f' life, yo---not really, I just like sayin' that). I've still got Devil May Cry 3, Soul Calibur 3, Tekken 5, and Radiata Stories to catch up on from LAST year, so I'm kinda up on the past at the moment. XD
Posted by: J00kst3r at December 16, 2005 08:38 PMAh! Thank you very much, Zosocrowe! Now my interest is more peaked by this information! Thank you again so much!
Hmm... Well... It's not like there hasn't been any signs of KOS-MOS showing emotion. Already, three times that has happened! Hopefully they'll get more into it in this third one...
And chaos is finally wearing pants! XD
Oh yeah, I was wondering, where did you hear about Tales of Legendia? The way I found out about it was by purchasing SoulCalibur 3, the game came with a trailer disc and showed a video of it. I wonder what it's about...
Posted by: xKuroSeraphimx at December 17, 2005 12:42 AMOther than what was mentioned...
Uhhm, how about "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess"? I'm also curious about "Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows" (I don't have enough multiplayer games...or any, really :P), as well as "Dragon Quest VIII"...both of which are already out. Uhhm..."Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance." Oh, and "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," because I'm one of those dorks.
Posted by: Sharon at December 17, 2005 01:10 AMAw Sharon~ we're all gaming nerds of some sort or another! 'tis okay! :P
Kuro~
Chaos in pants? I thought he always had pants on? It's been awhile since I played the game, so I can't remember. Haven't finished #2 yet either. I kept him in his swimshorts for a long time in the first game, maybe that's why i can't remember. Ha ha!
I found out about Legendia awhile ago, after I played Tales of Symphonia. I fell in love with ToS and wanted to know if there would be more games similar to it. If you haven't played it and you like RPGs, do! It's probably one of my most favorite RPGs ever. Don't let the simple design scare you either, it's a great game (sad story). I'm hoping Legendia is the same.
Posted by: Zoso at December 17, 2005 01:41 AMWoooooooo! Go 2006 games! My list for consoles would be PSP(i might be getting one for Christmas) and PS3, maybe a Revolution. As for games, there's a lot of those.....
Drakengard 2, Xenosaga 3, Shadow Hearts(all of them), Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus(I'm an FFVII junkie :p), Devil May Cry 4 (and 3), .hack//GU 1-3, Gran Turismo Vision, maybe FF11 and FF12, I still need to get Soul Calibur 3... and hopefully Jak 4!(hopefully because I dunno if they're going to make another one or not)
Have you ever played any of the Jak games? The latest one, Jak X, is just a racing game but it's still fun... and oh yeah, do you know when Xenosaga 3 is supposed to come out?
Posted by: Vampire_Fire at December 17, 2005 11:17 AMNever played any of the Jax games. They look fun, but I'm not good at games like that. Ha ha~ I suck at racing games, sports games, and FPS games too.
Posted by: Zoso at December 17, 2005 12:34 PMActually, I think you might like the Jak games. Jak and Daxter is a kid game, but was still fun(and pretty easy). Then Jak 2 came out and gets a whole shade darker, but it was still fun. Racing gets introduced in that game but it's not an all the time thing. The most fun out of all the games is Jak 3. My sister plays it all the time and I love just to watch her. If I could recommend just one it would be Jak 3, but it helps to start on at least Jak 2. If you're looking for a really fun new game to pick up, I suggest those. (Phew, that was a long rant-thingie :P)
Posted by: Vampire_Fire at December 18, 2005 10:02 AMWell... He's always wearing those body suits or those shorty shorts. :D In the third one, I saw he finally wears some cool white ones.
I actually rented ToS for a while and have gotten up to the part where I'm in an icy place in disc 2 in just one week. I don't know what it was; it's been a while, but you had to move these blocks into these holes, yet they all slide to one side if you push them. My older cousin said he got two copies of ToS and is generous enough to offer me one of the copies. I love him so much! :3
Also, what's Magna Carta? It looks pretty? What's it about?
Posted by: xKuroSeraphimx at December 19, 2005 10:34 PMMagna Carta is fun. I'll do a full review of it when I finally finish it. It's about a team of mercinaries who are in the middle of a horrible war between humans and native people of the land. The humans fled their own land and took over the Yason's land, which has led to a very long war. So far, my objective is to stop the war, but of course there are a few plot twists...
It's interesting because it's roots are based on the history of North American Indians. The Yason are the bad guys, as you play as a human, but you can see why they're so pissed off. Kind of a delemma, if you ask me. *laughs*
I'll write more about it once I'm done. I'm about half way through right now.
