Final Fantasy VII: Last Order
So, today I watched FFVII: Last Order. It was okay, considering it was an OVA made to go along with FFVII: Advent Children. Basically, it's the story about Zack, Cloud, and Tifa, and the incident that went down at the village and reactor. It's been a *long* time since I played the game, so my memory isn't very good, and I got a bit confused watching it. *weak laugh*
I know Zack was actually the man who came with Sephiroth to the village, and Cloud was one of the soldiers. I'm a bit confused as to why Zack is dragging a weirded out Cloud all over the place (I'll have to watch it again). Or the scene at the end of this show, with Zack and Cloud in the back of a truck running from ShinRa. Did that happen in the game? I thought there was a scene with Zack, Sephiroth, and Cloud in a truck...?
Damn, I've forgotten a ton of stuff. I'll have to replay just to slake my curiousity.
At anyrate, the animation is awesome. The fight scenes are a bit fast, but it adds a Matrixesque feel to the whole thing. There isn't a lot of music with this show, but I really don't care too much about that. My main complaint was it just sort of--ended. Bam, the end! And of course I'm sitting there going, WTF?
NICE graphics! That looks awesome. I wonder when THAT comes out in good ol' England... =/

Zack was lying unconcious while Sephy and Cloud had it out on the reactor bridge. Cloud "throws" Seph down into the Mako, and promptly passes out from exhaustion. Hojo and his goons show up not too much later.
In the meantime, Zangan makes off with Tifa in order to treat her injuries and protect her from Hojo.
Hojo rounds up Cloud and Zack and forces them into his experiment (read: involves a shitload of Mako).
The two friends end up side by side -- floating in glass tubes. Somewhere along the line, they make plans to escape by scratching out messages on the glass (...Yeah, alright, I'll buy that.)
Apparently, they didn't get out soon ENOUGH, and Cloud develops Mako poisoning. Zack DOESN'T (I know, 'what the hell.')
On his own strength, Zack busts out during "feeding time" and drags Cloud (who's 2 steps away from being a vegetable) along for the ride.
Cloud in tow, Zack books it for Midgar by hitching a ride from a trucker. (You can access this sequence in the game by returning to the Shinra Mansion on disc 3). Unfortunately, Shinra forces find them, and shoot Zack down in cold blood (they figure Cloud's too 'effed up to do much ANYWAY and just leave him for dead).
Cloud "snaps out of it" (...just as dumb as he was goin' into the whole ordeal) and crawls over to Zack in distress.

Zack's dead, dude.

Cloud weilds Zack's sword in memory, and, yeah, you know the rest.
