Posted by Zoso at September 1, 2005 12:00 AMNice site,
you mentioned Black Cat volume 1 coming out? As you can deduct from my e-mail adress, I hail from the pitifully small European country called Belgium (in fact, so small that apart from our beloved Dutch we get three other languages in high school, English, French and German. Especially French comes in handy as Belgium has both a French and a Dutch part), here we are currently at volume 12 of that series, I think - French translation.
How is it that a massive (English) market such as the UK and USA has so little mangas? You should check out the lists at my favorite shop in Antwerp; superdragontoys.com
If you're interested in easily accessible translated (English) manga scans, go take a look at mangavision.org, it is a French site but that shouldn't be much of an obstacle. Click on "menu de navigation" than down to "scans de mangas" and there you go.
They also have a great music collection, you only need real player.
Have fun!
Posted by: Oliver at September 25, 2005 01:35 PMHi! Thanks! I don't think it's because the market is small, per se. Several companies have had to drop titles because they couldn't meet the demands of the market on time, etc. Not to mention some companies don't seem to do much research on what anime or manga fans want to read. *frowns* Black Cat should have been picked up sooner. It's a popular title! Bleach was picked up rather late too, which was surprising since it's popularity as well (book 9 was just released).
Thank you for the links! I'll make sure to check them out!
