AFFRO!
Those buttons remind me of a snowman. You know... those stones that you press in to the body. I think maybe someone did that with this dude.
Posted by: DR at June 3, 2005 01:12 AMHa ha! I didn't even notice the buttons! I couldn't stop staring at the hair...
Heh...You know, there's enough tumbleweeds around here that I could probably represent the hair accurately enough if I did make a snow man like this guy.
Posted by: Zoso at June 3, 2005 10:38 PMLMAO! Seriously, do that next winter. Affro snowman! I would, but, you know, it doesn't snow over here.
Or it does but it's all watery and traffic-inducing. >=/
Posted by: DR at June 4, 2005 12:58 AMYeah...the snow here usually sucks for making snowmen too. It's either too wet or too dry. Occassionally we'll get a good snow for making snowpeople, but not often. Not to mention our snow only lasts a few days. LOL
Winter weather usually consists of freezing rain. Heh...and I refuse to drive in that crap.
Posted by: Zoso at June 4, 2005 08:15 AMHmm. Ours is kinda like that too. I prefer the colder seasons though (autumn is my favourite). Windy weather is probably my favourite kind.
Hmm... I'm still learning to drive (well, I can drive as such, just have no licence yet) but I've actually never really driven in rain before. Tch.
Did I tell you that I managed to sort out those MP3s now? I love listening to them, though I sometimes think I've left my game on when I'm not paying any attention. Heh. And, hey hey, how's that next chapter coming along? If you've had the time to work on it. It doesn't feel much like a Saturday to me... all the days seemed to have blurred together at the minute.
Posted by: DR at June 4, 2005 01:27 PMRegular rain is fine. I don't mind. Freezing rain--no thanks. It's like driving on a frozen pond. Lots of accidents and very scary. I don't like driving in the snow either, but thankfully, there's not a lot of that either.
Autumn is my favorite season too. I love the leaves, the smell, and the fact that I know I'll be laid off of work soon. Heh. Two months of NOTHING! Ahhh...bliss. Only five more months to go and I'm free! Yay!
Wow...this year has gone by pretty fast...It's already June...(sob--I have a birthday coming soon--but I've decided I'm going to be 25 this year instead of 29).
No, I haven't worked on the chapter at all. I have my ideas laid out, but I've been working on my orginal fiction and catching up with some reading. Basically, I've been a lazy bum. Ha ha! But have no fear! You'll be the first person to read it when I get it finished. Ha ha!
*wanders off to have some "crisps" before cleaning the "loo".* ;)
Posted by: Zoso at June 4, 2005 06:35 PMI bet his hair is light and managable.
Posted by: J at June 4, 2005 07:03 PMOf course! He uses Suave! But if he laid off the Aqua Net, it would be even more light and managable!
Posted by: Zoso at June 4, 2005 08:28 PMI know what you mean. My birthday's in under two months (not August, though) and I've decided that I'm not 18 this year. I'm 7.
Heh, lucky you! I've got a month left before I'm free. Aaargh.
I've worked a little on my fics, although I'm supposed to be revising for an exam next week but nothing wants to sink in. =/ Heh. I'm sure it will be okay, though. HOPEFULLY. And, yay, I can't wait for your next chapter!
And wow, that sentence was just music to my ears. I was going to try and make an American version, but came up short on vocab, so I'll just pretend I said this in an appalling American accent and be on my way. Y'all.
Posted by: DR at June 5, 2005 12:40 AMHa ha! Awww...come on! There's a whole list of vocab words to play with! ;) J and I have adopted one of two ourselves. AOL IM filters the word "knackered", you know. Well, only if you forget to turn off the parental controls...like J did. It was a wonder he could understand anything I was typing...it probably looked like this:
**** but ***** **** ** and ****. ******* no ***** he ****** ***.......
Just kidding...I'm not THAT bad...
Y'all---hee hee---that makes me giggle. My grandma says that so I hardly notice it, unless it's pointed out to me. It's not widly used here in the northern part of the US. Mostly it's found in Southern accents (in the states like Alabama, Oklahoma, Georgia, Lousiana, etc). Grandma was born and raised in Oklahoma. I think our equivalant would be "you guys" or "you people"--sadly, those don't have the same ring as "y'all". :(
>>>I've decided that I'm not 18 this year. I'm 7.
You have no idea how hard this made me laugh. I think I'll join you being 7. 25 was a stupid age. 7 was much better. Lets go play in the sand box together, alright? (ha ha ha) Seriously, little kids have it great. No bills, no big tests, no worries about college, etc.
You said you got the MP3's to work earlier? That's great! I downloaded some Final Fantasy stuff a week or two ago. Ahhh...brings back memories!
Posted by: Zoso at June 5, 2005 07:47 AMWhat's sad is that I didn't notice up until that point that the parental controls were on. Apparently mine were set to be ubber sensitive too... filtering words like "knackered." AIM must think that I'm one of those people who can't handle reality... I go through life with the crutch of parental controls set to "Care-Bears and rainbows" level filtering.
LOL Don't talk to me unless you have something happy to say and it involves butterflies!
Posted by: J at June 5, 2005 03:46 PMJ--
Your friendship hits me like a Care Bear Stare!
Seriously though, if that was the case, you probably haven't heard a word I've said in the last...oh...how many years we've been friends? LMAO
Posted by: Zoso at June 5, 2005 04:48 PMYou two crack me up!
Yeah, I knew y'all was a Southern thing (I am rather proud of my Southern!Accent sounding like something that resembles English), it just fit so perfectly with that sentence. Our equivalent is "you lot". Heh.
Yeah, I'd understand it filtering knackered or knackers... I always remember ages ago when I was a kid and this kid dancer had just performed on TV and the presenter asked how she felt and she replied: "Knackered." The whole crowd was in hysterics.
Oh, see, over here we call it a sand pit. zomg. But yes, let us play in the sand and on swings and slides and poorly-surfaced areas of bumpy tarmac. Or is that just in Kent?
Yeah, I got the Liberi Fatali MP3 too. I love that tune. I also like the main theme for FF7. I was only planning to get three of the SO3 MP3s (too many 3s in that sentence...), which were Influence of Turth Appeareance (LOVE that battle theme), The Future of Blood-Stained Blade and Rust Color, but then I realised that So Alone, Be Sorrow would be excellent for writing sad scenes in my fics, so I got both versions and ended up with Mission to the Deep Space too. O__o Listened to any of those? I know you had So Alone, Be Sorrow on your iTunes list. I personally like getting music off all my old SNES games... reminds me of being 7, 8 and 9 and I love the nostalgia. Those videogames were a major influence on my writing.
Oh, and for J: Pinky and fluffy butterflies.... being crushed.... by a steam roller... in San Fransisco... ^__^
Posted by: DR at June 6, 2005 02:31 AMSan Franciso is a happy place... full of happy people...
Posted by: J at June 7, 2005 02:26 PMAnd flat butterflies.
Posted by: DR at June 8, 2005 03:09 AMDo not verbally assault the homeland of my people! LOL We crush no butterflies, we are a gental breed!
Posted by: J at June 8, 2005 05:35 PMLMAO
This is defintly one of the best converstation peices I've followed in a long time. Care Bears, steamrollers, San Francisco, and butterflies.
Sounds like Utopia to me!
:P
Posted by: Zoso at June 8, 2005 09:27 PMUtopia? I want to say... Where the hell do you live?! Heehee. Is J actually from/living in San Francisco? Because that would be a totally random psychic moment there, since I just thought it up out of the blue. And spelt it wrong, but what the hell, I'm foreign!
Hey, I read your latest post and I hope things are not going too crazy over there. It's definitely a mad time of the year (but when isn't mad, really?).
I could amuse you and tell you that at least one of your reviewers thought you were male. Or still does. XD Weird, because I can sometimes tell just by the writing. Without reading your bio, I guessed you were female. Do you find that you can guess other writers often enough?
Posted by: DR at June 9, 2005 09:03 AMI'm male? Heh! I believe my bio says I'm a mom...unless I missed the memo that says men can be mothers now...Did you set them straight? LOL
Uhhh...anyway. ;)
Sometimes I can tell by the writing if the writer is male of female. Men tend to be more action and fact oriented--their writing is often tighter too. I find that women often delve more into the psyche and are more generous with their discriptions. *shrug* That's what I've noticed, but there are always exceptions to the rule.
It's still kinda hectic, but today is a bit more laid back. *whew*
No, J isn't from San Francisco. Neither am I since he lives about a mile from my house. ;P We live in Washington State (not Seattle). Hardly an Utopia. LOL I've been to San Francisco once to visit Sea World. I have no intrest in visiting again, but J might want to see his "homeland" (or perhaps he already has...I dunno). I'll let him explain the reference. ;)
Spelling? Bah! I didn't even notice. We Americans are happy enough if the point gets across--everything else is trivial. LOL Maybe that's why everyone thinks we're stupid? LMAO LMAO Anyway, I remember in grade school having to spell state names...
M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I
Who ever named Mississippi was on crack. That's all I have to say about it.
Ah...lunch time is on the horizon. I think I shall go shopping and then to the cafe for a sandwhich! Yum!
Talk later :)
Posted by: Zoso at June 9, 2005 11:50 AMWhoever named Mississippi had a vendetta against those who lisp.
WELL, considering Fayt's having Albel's baby in one fic, it does not surprise me! I never read that story. My eyes were assaulted by the poor summary. I love it when people write that they suck at summaries... A story is a long summary, suck on that one! Somebody said that female writers tend to write female characters, but I find myself writing guys... and you write Albel so well, so I guess that's unfounded.
Anyway. Oooh, Washington. I've never been to America myself, but I'm not sure where I'd go first. I'd probably go to Canada (home of Wolverine!) anyway, but that would mean avoiding The Relatives. Heehee.
I haven't had a sandwich in aaages. I was probably eating dinner or away at my martial arts class when you wrote this. Ahh, the beauties of being five hours ahead. Off to sleep, now!
Posted by: DR at June 9, 2005 02:50 PMLOL Shalaney is twice the man I could ever dream of being. J/K However, there's not doubt in my mind she'd definitley be able to beat me up if ever we got into a brawl. BTW Does Dave still whine about the time I shoved him at the old branch Shalaney? He stood down immediately like the big freakin baby he is.... but one time I had something in my eye and Andy thought I winked at him and came unglued.
Hahaha, where to start... San Francisco is a very liberal place and heartland of the homosexual movement in America. Thus, being gay, it is my mecca... as all gay men I must pilgrimage there once in my lifetime or they take back the members only toaster. Anyhow, if ever you hear Americans reference the average resident of San Francisco they are probably making a reference to this country's largest gay community.
Posted by: J at June 9, 2005 04:38 PMFayt is having Albel's baby? (@__@) Okaaay...That's just (pardon me), Fucked.UP.
I don't write female characters well, despite being a girl. I have difficulties relating to other women. IE: I usually don't like them. LOL Most of my friends are male, with the exception of a few females who are similar to myself. Meaning: They aren't catty, back-stabbers, snotty, whiny, primpy, or anything else that makes me want to gag. I guess you can say I'm a Tomboy... *shrug*
Well, since my state borders Canada, if you ever do make it this way, you'll have to stop by and visit! LOL Granted, we're about five hours from the border, but it's all good. Ha ha!
J....
I would never want you to be angry at me. When you're mad, you get this scary aura about you and this look in your eye. Heh. While I am a tornado of fury, you are the silent storm that sweeps in suddenly and unexpectantly...
LMAO That was friggen poetic...I've impressed myself.
Anyway, I never knew you shoved Dave. Do tell. I've wanted to shove him a few times...shove my foot right up his ass...A man shouldn't whine the way he does. It ain't right. *shakes head* Andy makes me laugh. He likes you, despite the "cultural" differences. However, he has a serious adversion when it comes to other men winking or touching him...LMAO LMAO
Ah...time for supper.
Posted by: Zoso at June 9, 2005 05:58 PMHey, this post went archive! That is kinda wierd, it wasn't archived earlier!
Anyway, I have no idea why you have this image of me as full of silent rage LOL. I'm not very good at hiding my ambitions and thoughts actually.
Yes, ah Dave... That shove cost me a job as Customer Retention Manager... LOL That seems like so long ago now. I think that was 2001 LOL! Four years!
Very poetic, oddly...
Posted by: J at June 10, 2005 12:30 AMAhaha... I get it! Goes well with the pink butterflies reference, then? >=D
Haha, yeah, Zoso, I'm the same, a tomboy. Most of my friends are actually female, because I went to an all-girls' school, but I have a close male friend and I'll probably have lots of male friends at uni if I ever get in.
Yeah, check out the SO3 section... the story's near the top, I think, and I'm sure it said Fayt is pregnant with Albel's child, but the summary was hard to understand. I think it actually said "an Albel child" which makes me think of the little Albel pudding running around and shouting "maggot!".
Okay, maybe I need just a bit more sleep....
