Today has been one of those days all the way around. I think the worst thing that happened today was the people hosting the tennis tourney called to say that Hunter was the only 10 year old boy to sign up for it. Everyone else was several years older and far more experienced.
Needless to say, he won't be participating and he's terribly upset. I feel so bad for him, because he was so excited. How do you explain to a kid that they aren't just skilled enough to play with the bigger kids? He's fairly good for a beginner, but not good enough to play with older children yet. He doesn't understand that. I just told him that there were no kids his age playing, so he there were no matches for him.
He went to bed early today, in tears, and I can't do much to make it better.
That really sucks.
