Naruto picked up by new company

ShoPro Entertainment, who recently merged with VIZ has announced the aquisition of Naruto TV.

So, no more speculation about Funimation or 4Kids. You otaku who freak out over crap like this can just shut up now. You'll have a sub, right along with the dub. Be happy you get crap at all.

I for one am happy, but also a bit sad. No more BT downloads...kinda tough to stomach 121 episodes into a series. I suppose there are still the raws, which I'll probably watch (as I am with Gankutsuou).

I'm more concerned about the pace of the series vs that of the Manga. It's catching up quite fast. I'd hate to see a replay of the Kenshin fiasco...I'm looking forward to seeing the Akutsuki in action again...

Ha ha Arxane. That's pretty funny! ;-) I think you have it about right.

Thanks. I've been prepared to do that comic for some time now had 4Kids license "Naruto". Unfortunately, I felt compelled to do one for Shopro/Viz because so many people (particularly the die-hards at Anime on DVD) still hate them. Even Funimation would've been a more "assuring" response because the "OMG FUNI RAEPD DBZ!!!!!!1" crowd isn't that large anymore...and thus not as fun to pick on ;)

Anyway, the question I'm more interested in now is who's going to to dub the series. With Viz, the choice is Ocean, Ocean, and Ocean (oh, and maybe a studio no one's ever heard about like Voice One for a high-profile series like "Saikano"). If that's the case, I sincerely hope they use Westwood, because the last thing this world needs is Blue Water dubbing something like "Naruto"...not that I've seen this series before.

And we also have to wait to see which television channel this will go to...agh, the wank is going to kill me...

Regardless, I still laughed my head off at that last panel. That was classic! Ha ha!

Hn...I don't know much about the dubbing companies. I do hope it gets a decent dub. Dubbing has gotten so much better over the past couple years, I'm not as worried about it as I used to be. If it's crappy, I'll just watch the sub, no big deal. Scripting concerns me more than voice overs too...I'd hate to see an Inuyasha"ish" script for the English release...I have a love hate relationship with that dub, not because of the acting, but because of the lame scripting they use half the time... *shrugs*

Oh well...come what may, my son is super excited. Unfortunatly, he's a Narutard...but I give him some slack because he's only 10... ;-)
