And I'm quite pleased with the results.
Then again, I wasn't really too worried about Funimation (the people who dubbed DBZ) aquiring this series. Many people fail to look past the entire mess that was DBZ, and see some of Funi's more decent accomplishments. Look no further than Fruits Basket, an excellent dub, even when compared to other companies.
Anyway, Funi did a great job on this episode. Ed and Al's voices were bang on, in my opinion. Some people say Ed sounds too old, but more like an honest to God 15 year old than a lot of other shows I've watched. Al's voice was perfect, with the child-like innocence and quiet demenor.
As for the showing on Cartoon Network, I saw no editing issues. Ed's leg gushed blood and a few of his more "choice" words were left in. I finished the show with a real good feeling, but that was probably just because I love FMA so much. My son and his friend stayed up to watch it as well to see how it turned out. The only thing my son says was, "They sound a bit weird, but that's 'cause I'm used to listening to them in Japanese." Other than that, he loved it and can't wait for the DVD's to come out so he can watch it over, and over, and over...*sigh*
