"Drawn Together": The New Reality TV Show

Aren't you excited? Another reality TV show is set to hit the air waves on October 27th! You can catch it on Comedy Central right after the all new episodes of South Park!

Yeah, you heard me right! Comedy Central has their own totally orginal animated reality TV Show! Isn't that fantastic! This is the best idea someone's had since chocolate chip cookies!

Okay, I won't go that far...it's hard to beat Chocolate Chip cookies...but seriously, this series looks absolutly incredible. Well, not really, but it's a given that it'll be far more interesting that "Suvivor:Who the Hell Cares Where they are Now", "The Un-Real World" on MTV, and the plethora over other stupid "reality" shows polluting our televisions.

I laughed my head off when I heard about "Drawn Together". An "animated reality show". Isn't that brilliant? I thought so! You can see a clip on the comedy central web site. It looks pretty damn funny, with a handful of characters to fit the sterotypical "reality tv personalities" you see on those stupid shows.

Clara- typical spoiled white girl princess. She's sing and looks a hell of alot like Bell from Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". She's also a bigot.
Wooldor Sockbat- Ren and Stimpy wanna be. Annoying as all hell.
Foxy Love- Black woman with a gangster attitude. Oh, she's a muscian of course.
Toot- 20's style animated girl, think Betty Boop but fat.
Ling Ling- sociopathic Japanese animated pikachuu creature. Complete with electric abilitites.
Xander- gay video game character that resembles Link from Legend of Zelda.
Spanky Ham- Poor animated web gif with a foul mouth and worse manners.
Captain Hero- the superman rip off. He's all brawn, no brains.

This show is going to touch on everything wrong with reality TV. I can't wait! I have a feeling it'll be the best reality television show to date! Watch out Survivor! Watch out Real World!

*heh*

Considering the plot of the show, one can choose to not be offended by the somewhat explict content of the show. Unfortunately, I am not everyone. I am sick and tired of the overtly sexual depiction of black women by the media. It's bad enough in film and music videos, but now I think it's gone too far. The constant repitition of black women as "oversexed" and and "sexually loose" serves as a basis for perpetuating the stereotype in reality. Humor is used to relieve the tension of the message this cartoon is sending out and I for one am not amused.

You're opinion is dualy noted. Though I for one have never thought of black women as over-sexed or loose...Then again, stereotypes are everywhere and I tend to ignore them. Sure, those supermodels and anorexic actresses on tv (white, black, asian, etc) aren't doing much to help the image of us women as a whole, but I'm not losing any sleep over it. Not much you can do about it either.

If you don't like the show, don't watch it. No one's going to force you. Simple as that.
