*sigh*

I need a new PS2.

I'm really bummed that this one is starting to give up the ghost on me...it's incredibly irritating when the load times take forever and a day, and when my game freezes in the middle of a battle or just switching to open a menu. I have several games I need to finish, but my annoyance has grown to the point where I don't want to play if I can't have a PS2 that works.

Yes, I'm throwing a fit. Laugh all you want.

If I buy a new one...okay, scratch that....WHEN I buy a new one, it'll be my third console. Yup, count'em. THREE... My first one didn't last even a whole year. This one has been in the family for maybe two...I can't remember. I must be hard on them...or maybe they're just made crappy. I really don't care, since I love the PS2 so much, and I'll keep buying them as I need them. Thank God they aren't 300 bucks anymore...

I suppose I should edit my gaming habits somewhat. When I sit down to play a game, I make a day of it. Or sometimes a couple days...it depends on what I have going on at the time. During layoff season, when it's cold and icey out, I'll play from the time I get up until supper...if not more. Not good for the ole PS2...even if I don't need a break, it probably does....Then again, I don't play everyday or even all the time. I wait for particular games to come out, such as FF, Xenosaga, Star Ocean, Dark Cloud, Devil May Cry, etc...I'm not the kind of person who plays a multitude of different games on and off all week.

I suppose I wouldn't be so annoyed at this whole ordeal, but I made it to the final boss of Star Ocean and got my ass kicked. I need more levels and to learn some new tricks, which means I have to back track some...and I don't want to do that with my PS2 crapping out on me all the time...

Sooo...where does that leave me...

150 bucks poorer...that's where....

J...when are you going to come over so we can play FFCC? Piggy, that sawed off little maniac, and Yekene, the dress wearing, blue haired transvestite are probably bored as hell...Not to mention I've probably forgotten how to play, but I HAVEN'T forgotten that I finally got my brand new weapon! We quit playing right after....YOU KNOW how long it took me to find it! *frowns* Piggy must be afraid Yekene will show him up now....*heh* (that was a juvenile taunt, if you didn't know) Don't want to be shown up by a man in a dress, eh? *ROTF*

Okay, enough picking on J. FFCC is so much fun. For those of you who don't know, FFCC is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicals. It's a beautiful game (I haven't talked about it, have I? Shame on me!) and a ton of fun. However, it's more fun playing with someone else than single player. Actually, the game is more designed for multiplayers, and playing as one person can really piss you off later in the game (IE: some of the puzzels don't change for single player mode...hence you spend hours trying to undo booby traps that NEED two people to complete the task). Released for the Gamecube, the only thing I hate about this game is that multiplayer mode requires connection through the gameboy.

Why?

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?

I don't see the point, other than Nintendo can make some serious cash selling the link cables and Gameboys. A good reason if you're a business, I suppose. But as a consumer, I'd be hard pressed to buy another game with this sort of requirement. First of all, it's stupid. Everything you do with the Gameboy you can do by manuvering through menus with a normal controller. There's nothing special about the Gameboy link-up. Oh...except the map that shows monsters and treasures that NIETHER of us knew about until a week ago (we've been playing this game for like 6 weeks. A year a weekend.) And that's stupid too, if you ask me. Why the hell would I want to be looking at my Gameboy screen instead of the TV? I wouldn't be able to see where I'm going! And flipping through the menu is a nightmare with the Gameboy. Especially if your like me and get to moving through fast through the buttons and accidently pause the game...No big deal with regular controllers, but with the set up they have here, doing this messes up not only you, but also your partner and you have to start everything all over again...*sigh*

And try casting magic together...

Sheesh...talk about a pain in the ass. The only way to create more powerful spells is for the party to cast different magic at the same exact time. Just what I want to do in a real time battle system...But it's good for a few laughs.

Don't get me wrong...I actually LOVE this game. It's a blast! The graphics are amazingly beautiful, the story is simple but fun, and the battle system isn't all that shabby (Just the magic part). It's certainly not and epic game, but if played with the right person/people (up to four can play), it's a TON of fun...I look forward to every Friday when we hook up the GC and sit down for an hour or two of good laughs as we torment our characters and each other.

I have to work on Saturday morning...*sigh* So we probably won't get to play again this weekend...but FFCC isn't going anywhere...and it'll still be as much fun as before when we can both find the time to play another year. (FFCC is played in increments of "years". To finish a "year" you have to fill your crystal chalice by completing three dungeons)

Okay, I'm done complaining...I think...

Update on my friend and the crazy man in my neighborhood:

First of all, Mikey is doing well. He's at his brother's house, still doped up and in pain, but he's able to talk coherently. He goes to the doctor on Friday. I'll probably give him a call later this week. I'm so glad he's okay. I'd like to wring the neck of that stupid woman... As for the weirdo I talked about earlier, apparently I don't know everyone in my neighborhood...*laughs* The guy is brother of one of the neighbors that lives behind us. Another neighbor that lives next door to them told us about him. From what I understand, he's living with his sister...He's not "right in the head"....though I'm not sure what that means. Is he mentally disabled? Is he a sociopath? Kinda makes me even more nervous not knowing...We haven't seen him before because it sounds like he doesn't leave the house much...though the other neighbor said they've found him rummaging around in their garage a few times, or just standing in their yard doing nothing. She says he's really weird. I'll agree. Having seen him once, he's definitly "not right" somewhere...

ALSO:
Those who have come here looking for stories (fanfiction and other) you won't find any here! Sorry! If you've come here from FF.net, then you've seen everything I've written at that site. If I decide to finish writing, the only place I'll update is at that site. I apologize for the lack of updates, but I'm still on haitus! *laughs* Thanks for reading though! You people have been great! ;-)
