Indeed. The wrath of fangirls is quite frightening.

:O What'd I miss?

gist of it is:

Sesshoumaru wants to upgrade the Tenseiga. He hooks up with his mom who tells him how to do it (sorta). She sicks a hound of hell on Sess and his party. The hound grabs Rin and Sango's brother (I always forget his name), then drags the two kids into hell.

Sess's mom tells him he can't go to hell because there's no way back and even he would die there. He starts to go anyway and his mom asks him why he's had such a change of heart about humans. He makes an assholeish statement along the lines of, "I'm just going there to kill that dog."

Sess goes into 'hell' (it's more like the path that leads to hell) and fights the dog. He cuts it in half, Rin and what's his face pop out. Rin isn't doing to good and now they're stuck there. They walk towards hell for awhile and Sango's brother tells Sesshoumaru Rin isn't breathing.

Sess goes to use his sword on Rin to bring her back to life (again), but he can't see the pallbearers. Rin is dead. Really dead.

He starts to freak out, asking over himself over and over again, "She's dead? Rin's dead?". Then he reflects on the fact he didn't have to let her tag along and if he'd left her in a human village when he first found her, she'd be alive.

Then the Lord of Hell shows up and steals Rin's body and drags her into true hell. Sess's mom opens a one time only portal for Sess and Sango's brother to escape. Sess says he's going into hell and Kohaku (I finally remembered!) should leave while he can.

The both go into true hell and find the Lord adding Rin's body to a mountain of corpses. Sesshoumaru makes a bold statement that he's going to bring Rin back, no matter what, and he's not going to let her die.

He attacks the Lord of Hell and cuts off its arm. He catches Rin's body and tells her to "Wake up!" Back in the real world, Sess's mom tells Jaken that the Tenseiga can only bring a person back to life once. Rin is truly dead this time.

In hell, Sess figures out that Rin can't be saved this time. He drops his sword and clutches Rin's body. He doesn't care about the sword now, he even asks himself what the is the point of making it stronger? He let Rin die. It's his fault. And (here's the real clincher) that there's nothing worth exchanging her life for.

As Sesshoumaru grieves, the Tenseiga lights up and the mountain of corpses begins to move. He purifies all the bodies and returns to the real world. Rin is still dead.

Sess gets angry at his mom, knowing she knew Rin would die. She scolds him for thinking he had control over life and death, and tells him he can only bring a person back to life once with the Tenseiga. She tells him this was a lesson to him, to learn how to be compassionate and understand the value of life when it is in his hands (ouch).

Jaken starts to cry and tells Sess's mother he's actually crying for Sesshoumaru, since his boss doesn't ever shed tears. Mom asks Sess if he's sad, then brings Rin back to life once more with her necklace thing.

Rin starts coughing and Sesshoumaru touches her face. He tells her it's ok now. Jaken thanks Mom and tells her Sesshoumaru is no doubt estatic over Rin's revival. She makes a comment about how Sesshoumaru has become like his father in 'the strangest ways'.

So ends the happy story. ;P
