He played the black AND green power ranger? At the same time?
I would say that that is talent, but I have seen the power rangers. And apparently it requires none.
Posted by sarah at July 24, 2006 09:17 AMThe original Power Rangers kicked ass. These, new ultra flash induced seizure prone types are all just pale imitations of the original TRUE Power Rangers.

OMG!!!! I'm a Power Ranger otaku! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Didn't Johnny also play the part of Renton Thurston from Eureka Seven? If so, then I applaud him for another great performance in another awesome dub. If not, then I still applaud the cast for a great dub!
Oh, and the cast looks like a killer. Also, since it is to be released on [as] it will most likely have little to no editing in the way of blood and gore (though there wasn't muchj of that to begin with). Along with violence, the sparse amount of cursing will probably remain intact, though I have to ask: Is it true that there is only one true curse word in the Japanese language, kuso, or something like that? If so, then the fansubs must have taken a lot of liberties to make their prized show sound more "mature" than it actually is.
I decided to lurk on the Bleach Exile forums, just to see their reactions, and quite honestly, I was surprised by the amount of praise and anticipation put on this dub. Not only were they posting dream cast lists, but they were actually complimenting the dub for coming stateside (and they even bashed on the elitist NARUTARDS)! Amazing; it finally seems that these elitist boards are finally being thrown upside down by the dub lovers!! I sense a revolution in the making!
However, this was the complete opposite to the Bleach Portal boards, which was still the same bunch of elitist morons from years gone by. Nothing but hate there, along with the same old arguments that all dubs suck. Seriously, the arguments these people put forth are nothing less than the shit; essentially the same thing, but with different words.
Sis, how are your gremlins? Have they followed you to work yet?
Gamma, I hated Power Rangers. *laughs* But Bosch did an EXCELLENT job in Grandia III and many of his other castings. I'm not worried about him one bit. Actually, I'm not really concerned at all.
I don't even bother to lurk at any of the Bleach Forums anymore. Or Naruto. Or any anime for that matter. Otaku elitism has scarred me for life. *weeps emo tear*
Posted by Zoso at July 24, 2006 06:17 PMOh my God, I adored the Power Rangers. Their rediculous mechs, the hilarious villains, and the way they spontaneously emitted sparks of DOOM whenever they were hit.
I'm sorry that otaku have scarred you for life. If it's any consolation, furries have scarred me for life, and the afterlife. *weeps emo tears in emo rain from the emo sky*
Teeeeeeeeetssssssssssssssuuuuuuoooooooo!!
Posted by Gamma ID at July 24, 2006 09:32 PMNo, but they have infected my newly built computer with a virus, forcing Quyen to rebuild and reformat it for the second time in a week.
I'll just leave it at that. I don't want to jinx myself anymore than I already have. I have to be on a plane Thursday.
As a child I found the power rangers offensive. It was like they could get away with the exageration and hokey effects because I was young and thus...too stupid to realise how fake it was.
I see it on TV every so often, and it still pisses me off. At least they've updated the theme song.
Posted by Sarah at July 25, 2006 08:42 AMAt least they've updated the theme song.
It frightens me that you know this.
Posted by Zoso at July 25, 2006 06:54 PMThe guy played VASH?! OH, I'm THERE.
Posted by J00kst3r at July 25, 2006 07:53 PMBut it played to my need of senseless violence and cheesy acting :( ...
Oh well, I suppose it's a niche taste, like lolicon and Beetleborgs. God I loved Beetleborgs. But Pee-Wee's Playhouse scared the shit out of me. Literally.
Posted by Gamma ID at July 26, 2006 04:32 AMWell, gamma, I suppose if children are going to mimic senseless violence they see on TV, it's best they watch a show that demonstrates how to do a lot of moves that have no hope of doing any damage to anything other than their dignity.
Posted by Sarah at July 26, 2006 08:50 AMExactly! See, there's no actual physical harm, and the kiddies learn a lesson :D. Everybody wins, except the kid and his ego. But that ego needed to be deflated anyways, especially if he thinks he can mimic those moves and succeed in actualing harming someone with them. Hell, even is they did manage to pull it off, you know how lame that would look today, what with the goofy tights, and the "Haah's!" and "Ungh's!". Not to mention those unecessary air splits. Why are there so many splits? And sparks? And why do their arms make swooshing noises when they point? It's the swoosh that makes me laugh though.
Oh my, seems like I trailed off there for a moment. Anyways, yeah. Ignore physics and air split all you want boys and girls. In the end you'll only be hurting yourselves (physically and mentally).
Posted by Gamma ID at July 26, 2006 10:19 AM...I'm still surprised that Rentons and Vashes voice are done by the same person.
