Comments: Another Job Offer

That's great news to hear! I happy for you mein fuehrer! And even though it may only last a short period of time, I think it would be good to take this opportunity by the horns. Lord knows that it might disappear in a heartbeat.
That brings me to the next topic: The illegal immigrants, and the protests concerning them. They need to stop, NOW. Not only are they making a spectacle of themselves by doing this, they are subsequently embarrassing Hispanics as a whole. Me and my family are full fledged American citizens (I was born in Dallas, Texas; my mother and her family moved here legally a VERY long time ago; my father and his family are natural born citizens from Puerto Rico), and we find these marches and banners and screaming to be signs of true degradation among the Hispanic - American community. It's annoying, humiliating, and senseless. In my mind they are blindly throwing themselves into a furnace, and you know what, I'm glad. I can't stand ignorance from anyone from any race, from any country.
Now that I have given my rant, it's story time! :)
So me and dad are returning from Wal-Mart when he tells me of this encounter he and his co-workers had with some of the protestors while maintaining one of the city's parks (He works in the parks division, so they get control over the greenhouses and parks). Guess what? THEY WERE ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS! : P they actually skipped school to go out and protest, when they didn't even know what they were protesting about! Cesar (Hispanic co-worker, and friend; resident, and soon to be citizen) got out of the truck and went over to talk with them. He asked them what they were doing out of school, and why they were protesting. Apparently, their vocabulary was that of a first grader since all they could say was, "VIVA MEXICO!" They started cracking up! It was so freakin' hilarious! ^^
And that’s not the only story I have. Okay, so I was in gym, flaunting around for the ladies as usual, when three Hispanic girls come in through the backdoor with posters in hand. At first, I had no idea what they were doing. I came up with the idea that they were trying to lose some teacher for skipping, but that was soon crossed out as they calmly strode down the small hallway to the right of me. The next thing they did will be forever ingrained into my head, simply because of it’s utter stupidity, and humiliation. They ran back down the hall and out the doors they came from, holding their cheap-ass poster high in the air while shouting at the top of their lungs, “VIVA MEXICO!”
Is it just I, or are these juvenile protestors only capable of saying, “VIVA MEXICO?” Maybe they’re just little retards? Oh well, who cares. It’ll come back to bite them in the ass. : P

Thanks gamma! Not sure if I'll take the job if I get offered it. I'm working right now, but only part time. Still, it's worth checking out.

As for the immigrant situation...what a mess. I can understand people wanting better for themselves and moving here. I even think (despite my angry rantings) that immigrant reform should include making it easier to get work visas, but just work visas. Citizenship should be something entirely different. I don't think children born of non-citizens should be granted citizenship. I don't think there should be aide to undocumented immigrants. I don't think business, with the exception of government postitions that deal with immigration and the like, should do business in any other language than English. I think business who do hire illegals should be heavily fined or even prosecuted (so the point gets across).

I'm not sure where this, "You owe us" mentality comes from. Nor this, "go home Europeans" attitude. If we have to leave, so does most of Mexico and South America, and quite a few other Latino/Hispanic countries, if history stands true. People seem to forget that Spain and Portugal were maurading sons of bitches back in the day.

And of course, we, the people of the US, are to blame too. First, for ignoring a problem that has been obvious for decades. Second, for putting idiots into power. Third, for being lazy morons. We created this problem. Now we have to eat it.

But there is also the saying, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you," which is exactly what is going on here. Protest all you want, but pissing off the voting public with racist, ignorant rehtoric isn't going to move things in your favor in this country. And those who think the people of the US will be intimidated by passive aggressive threats of 'taking back the land' seem to forget where they live. Do they honestly think the people of the US will sit back and be run off from our homes?

The stunning irony of this whole thing is the mass turn outs of the protests. If they love Mexico so much, why aren't they doing this in Mexico? Why aren't they demanding reform from their Mexican government? Why aren't 500,000 people camped out on Fox's lawn with posters and waving flags? Viva Mexico, indeed.

But to be fair, this isn't just about the flood of illegals from Mexico. They come from S. America, Haiti, Cuba, China, etc. It's just harder for them to get here, but I'm down on them too.

It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out. I'm hoping for a fair, but strict reform law to go into place. The people who don't like it can leave--or maybe we'll just show them the door for good.
