Welcome to the world of the cell phone! I've only had one for a couple of weeks now, but I'm already realizing the advantages and disadvantages of owning one. While it is nice to be able to call anyone at anytime and not have to punch in 20 or so numbers (for me at least) it also means that anyone can call you at anytime too. My family calls me all the time for no reason. And, since I'm not a big "talk on the phone" person, it gets rather annoying. For example, my brother will call and tell me what he is currently doing right at that moment. @.@ o.k... *cough* don'tcare *cough* I'm hoping that he gets over the "new-ness" of the phone and stops doing that... otherwise I'm going to have to shove it down his throat. Anyway, its definately nice to have and it beats my redneck cell phone. (For those of you that arn't stupid like my family, its a sharpie. If your car breaks down you write "Call 911" on a piece of paper with your "cell phone." Yeah, my family's weird like that...)Now if the pos breaks down you just beat the hell out of it, attempt to peel the paint off of it with your language, and call up the tow truck guy. It's definately better than standing there with a sign. (Talk about feeling like a loser) Tinkering around with your phone is the best part. I still dink around with mine. (FYI: My computer makes weird noises around my phone too.) Have fun with it Zoso! Just don't forget to turn it off in class. *wince* Prof.'s tend to frown upon someone when their phone goes off in class. (Some will even kick you out.)
Posted by Mia_Hoshifaia at April 1, 2006 09:32 AMCool, a Motorola Slvr, nice. Those are the latest in hightech stuff. About the computer-hating-phone deal. Yeah, I get that all the time. I know what it is though, and it pisses me off beyond belief.
Reason: if you have speakers for your computer, the waves or signals or whatever, from the phone and the speakers are on the same frequency. The phone signals tend to overpower that of the speakers and that's why you get that weird "beep beep beep beep bzzt" etc. The noise would go away if you turn off your phone or the speakers, or put your phone quite a distance away from the computer. Either way it still annoys me.
Ah, hope the solves your problem.
Posted by Darkladyxion959 at April 1, 2006 10:16 PMYeah, I never use my cell either, but it never hurts to have one. I'm just waiting for the day I get to save a burning Walmart with my heroic 911 call. Or order in a pizza from the garage. Either way it goes down, it'll be both awesome, AND convenient.
Posted by J00kst3r at April 2, 2006 12:48 AMYou see, I'd let Walmart burn to the ground, but that's just me. :P Pizza from the garage--yeah, I can do that. I should put the pizza place on speed dial...
Posted by Zoso at April 2, 2006 01:06 AMMy next project is locating some Meev ringtones. I'm sure that'll prove to be difficult.
