I too think this bill was largely aimed at homosexuals, but it was offensive to just about everyone. Personality tests? Background checks? So what, if you like a type A personality you can't have kids? Commited a stupid crime when you were 18 and did time for it? NO KIDS FOR YOU! Have been with a person for 10 years but don't believe in marriage? Forget it!

While I can't support denying reproduction to single people or gay people, I've often thought restricting breeding rights of stupid people would be a good idea.

I do think it's a good idea to have certain restrictions on assisted reproduction, like if the parent has had a long history of child abuse or something, but a law like that is just seriously fucked up. Being a married catholic doesn't mean you're automatically a good parent, and being single, homosexual, or non christian doesn't mean you're a bad parent. Does she only want the Catholics to breed? Some of the nicest people I know meet hardly any of those restrictions, and they're great parents! The sad thing is that a law like that might be given actual consideration in some parts of the US.

I agree with the history of domestic violence, repeat drug offenders, pedophiles, etc. But signaling out unmarried people, homosexuals, religous preference, etc. is just rediculous.

This is fucked up. It is embarrasing enough to have to go through invitro or any other artificial insemination process, without having to fill out a novel of useless paperwork and have everyone and their mother review you. What are they going to do? Watch the "parents" go through their daily lives to determine who is and isn't ready for a kid? What if a couple want a child but someone has something wrong with their reproductive system. It is wrong to have a board or Ms. Miller decide whether or not you are allowed to have children. And if church is a requirement, isn't that against the law? Isn't America a free country? Who has the right, in this country, to determine whether or not you can have a child based on your faith? Granted it won't be solely based on your faith, but that is a factor. I'm glad that I don't live in Indiana.
