****Possible Spoilers****

There have been rumors going around that Kakashi took the Sharingan eye from Obito, and Obito was supposedly an Uchiha (some say Sasuke's father)and an old team mate of Kakashi's. When Itachi assassinated the Uchiha clan, Kakashi found Obito (Kakashi was there probably for ANBU) and as his parting gift, Obito gave it to him.

This is all theory, but it kinda makes sense. But then again, the internet is a horrible place, and not all what you hear is true.

There was an entire arc regarding Obito, Kakashi, and that other girl (can't remember her name). Obito was an Uchiha, not Itachi and Sasuke's father. Kakashi and Obito were on the same team, they went on a mission, it went bad, and Obito was killed. Kakashi recieved the eye shortly afterwards. I don't remember the exact chapters, but it ran right after Kakashi returned to Konoha with Naruto (after the fight with Sasuke).

Thanks for the info. I have to download the manga from the internet seeing as Shonen Jump takes forever to get the manga out. And it doesn't help that we have dial-up internet either. Anyways, thanks again.

You can get subscriptions at Sasuga for Shonen Jump (Japan). It's spendy though...
